Plumbing Repair Dispatch Terms of Service
Contractual terms, customer access requirements, safety shutoff protocols, diagnostic procedures, and repair authorizations governing our nationwide plumbing network.
1. Acceptance of Terms & Dispatch Model
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally enforceable contract between you ("Customer," "Client," or "Property Owner") and Local Plumbing Experts ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to https://localplumbingexpertpros.com and your use of our telephone referral and dispatch services via 877-907-4790.
Local Plumbing Experts operates as an independent plumbing dispatch coordinator and referral service. We connect residential property owners, commercial facility managers, and tenants with independent, third-party plumbing professionals. These independent contractors perform on-site troubleshooting, acoustic leak detection, pipe soldering, sewer cabling, and fixture rebuilds. Independent contractors maintain their own business organizations, state or municipal trade licenses, commercial general liability insurance, and worker's compensation policies. Requesting a service visit, approving an estimate, or permitting a technician to inspect plumbing equipment confirms full acceptance of these Terms.
2. Diagnostic Assessment & Upfront Repair Authorizations
All plumbing service appointments follow a defined, professional intake sequence designed to protect property integrity and ensure pricing transparency:
- Service Intake: Our dispatch representatives record customer-reported symptoms, piping materials (copper, PEX, galvanized steel, PVC, cast iron), fixture models, structural layout, and urgency factors to route an appropriate plumbing specialist.
- Systematic On-Site Diagnostics: Prior to undertaking physical repairs, the technician conducts diagnostic testing. Depending on reported symptoms, this may include measuring incoming municipal water pressure, testing pressure-reducing valves (PRVs), deploying acoustic leak detectors or pipe locators, performing drain flow tests, or running a CCTV sewer camera inspection.
- Written Itemized Authorization: Following diagnostic inspection, the specialist provides an itemized written estimate detailing required parts, labor scope, and repair timelines. Technicians will not cut drywall, dismantle supply lines, or excise sewer piping without express written or verbal authorization from the customer.
3. Jobsite Readiness, Representation & Property Access
Accurate plumbing diagnostics and safe repairs require appropriate on-site conditions:
- Authorized Adult Presence: An adult representative of at least 18 years of age, legally authorized to approve mechanical work, accept diagnostic findings, and execute payments, must remain on site for the duration of the visit.
- Unobstructed Access Pathways: The customer must provide clear, well-lit, and unimpeded access to water meters, main shutoff valves, drain cleanouts, crawlspaces, basement utility walls, and fixtures requiring inspection.
- Jobsite Hazard Mitigation: Work zones surrounding piping and fixtures must remain free of raw sewage, standing water hazards, exposed electrical wiring, and debris. Domestic pets must be safely secured away from service areas before the technician arrives.
4. Code Compliance & Mechanical Materials Standards
Field technicians execute plumbing repairs in strict compliance with the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), and applicable municipal building ordinances. Replacement parts, including brass ball valves, copper fittings, PEX crimp rings, backflow preventers, wax gaskets, and schedule 40 PVC/ABS drain fittings, must comply with ASTM and ASME quality specifications.
The customer is solely responsible for verifying compliance with any private covenants, homeowner association (HOA) rules, or commercial landlord lease stipulations governing structural modifications or plumbing fixture upgrades.
5. Mandatory Life-Safety Shutoff Protocols
Pressurized water networks and sanitary sewer drainage directly impact public health and structural safety. If an on-site technician uncovers conditions that present an imminent threat of catastrophic flooding, structural rot, gas leaks, or sewer gas back-siphonage, the technician is legally obligated to take immediate protective action:
- Immediate Isolation: The technician will immediately isolate the affected plumbing zone by shutting off the main water valve, fixture stop, or gas shutoff valve to prevent immediate property loss or safety hazards.
- Hazard Documentation: A formal written hazard notice will be provided to the property owner detailing the defective piping or fixture, the nature of the safety hazard, and the mandatory corrective actions required before reactivation.
- Zero Bypasses: Technicians will never bypass backflow preventers, cap active temperature and pressure relief (T&P) valves, or connect unvented drainage traps under any circumstances.
6. Diagnostic Dispatch Fees, Payment Terms & Cancellations
- Diagnostic Fees: A standard diagnostic dispatch charge covers vehicle travel, on-site multi-point pressure testing, and camera or acoustic leak evaluation. This diagnostic fee is earned upon completion of the inspection, regardless of whether the customer elects to proceed with subsequent repairs.
- Payment Terms: Invoices for completed diagnostic work, mechanical repairs, and installed components are due immediately upon completion of service. Acceptable forms of payment include major credit cards, debit cards, and approved commercial accounts.
- Cancellations: For non-emergency routine appointments or scheduled whole-house repiping consultations, we request notice of cancellation at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled window so dispatchers can reassign technicians to active flooding and burst pipe emergencies.
7. Warranty Scope, Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- Parts & Labor Warranties: Newly installed replacement fixtures, valves, and piping components carry respective manufacturer warranties. Specific labor workmanship warranties provided by the independent contractor are detailed on the final service invoice.
- Pre-Existing Conditions: Neither Local Plumbing Experts nor the dispatched technician assumes liability for pre-existing system failures, heavily corroded galvanized or cast iron pipes, unpermitted prior alterations, hidden foundation fractures, or structural dry rot sustained before the technician's arrival.
- Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the cumulative liability of Local Plumbing Experts and its affiliates arising out of or related to any referral, diagnostic evaluation, or contractor repair visit shall not exceed the total fees paid by the customer for that specific service call. Under no circumstances shall either party be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages.
8. Voice Communications & TCPA Consent
By providing your telephone number via our web intake forms or dialing 877-907-4790, you provide express written consent to receive informational phone calls, prerecorded messages, and SMS text messages regarding your service request, scheduling notifications, and invoice links. In the event of any claim, dispute, or controversy arising out of these Terms or related plumbing services, the parties agree to engage in good-faith informal negotiation for at least thirty (30) days before initiating formal mediation or legal proceedings.
